2008 World Music Award Winners

It was an eventful Sunday night at the 2008 World Music Awards in beautiful Monte Carlo, Monaco. Michelle Williams and Jesse Metcalfe hosted while the hottest stars of today, which included Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey performed.

Leona Lewis walked away with two awards– World’s Best Pop Female Artist and World’s Best New Artist. Fellow Brit, Amy Winehouse won the award for World’s Best Pop Rock Female Artist beating out Duffy, Pink and Katy Perry. Former Beatle, Ringo Starr, received the Diamond Award, which is given to musicians who have sold over 100 million albums in their career.

2008 Emmy Award Winners

The 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards got real this year as reality show nominees Heidi Klum, Ryan Seacrest, Jeff Probst, Howie Mandel, and Tom Bergeron hosted the event at the Nokia Theatre. But there could only be winner and that honor went to Jeff Probst. Funny woman Tina Fey rocked the competition for Lead Actress and for the second consecutive year for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Alicia, Missy, and Halle win 2008 BET Awards

Last night, Kanye West celebrated his wins for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Best Collaboration with T-Pain for “Good Life” at the 2008 BET Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Alicia Keys, Missy Elliott and Halle Berry also won awards, and while Kobe Bryant didn’t win the NBA Championship, he did get the Male Athlete of the Year Award. Since no award show is complete without entertainment, music’s it girls Rihanna, Alicia Keys, and Keyshia Cole were just some of the leading artists who performed.

Tyra, Rachael, and Ellen win 2008 Daytime Emmy Awards

While most televised award shows are held on Sunday nights, the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards celebrated the best of the best on Friday. Sherri Shepherd (The View) and Cameron Mathison (All My Children) hosted the 2-hour show at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood where attendees sat dinner style at tables rather than just chairs Golden Globe style.

Rachael Ray broke Ellen DeGeneres’ winning streak for Outstanding Talk Show, but DeGeneres once again took home the trophy for Outstanding Daytime Talk Show Host, making it her fourth win. Jimmy Kimmel presented Regis Philbin with this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award and former supermodel Tyra won in the newly created category Outstanding Informative Talk Show beating out Dr. Phil. And here are the rest of the winners:
