Mary Kay brings light to Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Mary Kay is bringing light to this issue with a series of documentaries that are narrated by Extra host Maria Menounos and actresses JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Alexa Vega.

Last night, these video shorts, which are part of the Mary Kay Inspiring Stories program premiered in Hollywood. The documentaries show how survivors of domestic violence have found joy, hope and dreams in their escape from violence. The participating women were divided into three crews, Team Give Joy, Team Give Hope, and Team Give Dreams, where they explored the meaning behind the words. The teams collaborated on their shorts in Hollywood alongside one of the three celebrities who narrated the documentaries. Maria Menounos narrated Give Dreams, JoAnna Garcia Swisher narrated Give Hope, and Alexa Vega narrated Give Joy.

2nd Annual Endless Summer Primetime Emmy Suite

Doris Bergman and Kathy Duliakas threw their 2nd Annual Endless Summer Primetime Emmy Suite on Tuesday to celebrate Sunday’s Emmy Awards show. This event, which was held at the famous Gonpachi of Beverly Hills attracted television and film stars including Sofia Milos, Eric Roberts, Vienna Girardi, William Shatner, Emmy nominee Dot-Marie Jones of Glee, and Judd Nelson.

The event benefited the Los Angeles chapter of the “I Have a Dream” Foundation which provides academic, social and cultural enrichment services to under-served youth and their families. Eric Stonestreet, Emmy Nominee for Outstanding Supporting Actor in A Comedy Series (‘Modern Family’), at the last minute couldn’t make it to the party, so he sent his publicist over with multiple backpacks to donate to the charity! Cheryl Hines (‘Suburgatory’ & ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’) headed straight to the charity and donated multiple backpacks. She said, “I just came for the kids — I don’t want anything — I just want to help the kids.”

Doris Bergman and Kathy Duliakas’ 3rd Annual Valentine Romance “Sneak Peek” Oscar Suite was once again held at the famed Café La Boheme, who shut its doors for the private event, where celebrities and other guests enjoyed delicious appetizers and gourmet food prepared by Executive Chef, Christine Banta, while picking up some goodies.

Bergman and Duliakas, who are known for throwing lavish parties had celebrities such as Mischa Barton, Billy Zane, and Vivica A. Fox in awe. “I’m having a wonderful time – the patio dining, the buffet lunch, the tray-passed appetizers – the quality of the vendors – this is really a special treat!” exclaimed Barton. “This suite is exquisite. It’s very generous. There’s a splendid array of goodies!” added Zane and Fox said,“What a beautiful party! The ambience, the gifts, the food — this is amazing – I’m so happy to be here!”

The event benefitted LoveCuresCancer, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to raising funds for cancer research and improving the daily experience of children in treatment at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Attendees donated stuffed animals and toys that will be delivered to the hospital on Valentine’s Day!

Celebrities including Jane Lynch and Jennifer Love Hewitt attended The 5th Annual Access Hollywood “Stuff You Must…” Lounge to help raise money for Lollipop Theater Network & Best Buddies on Friday and Saturday.

Stars received spa services from CVS/pharmacy including blowouts from Nexxus Salon Hair Care, manicures from essie, makeup applications from Maybelline New York, a create you-own fragrance bar with Essence of Beauty, and a smile bar from Crest 3D White Whitestrips.

After getting beautified, they took home Altec Lansing audio speakers, a years supply of Altoids and Wonka candy, soft blankets and robes from Little Giraffe/Giraffe at Home, Jorg Gray watches, the limited edition 40th anniversary UNO game from Mattell, delicate and handcrafted jewelry from Michelle Flynn Designs, and Pretty Ballerinas and Ursula Mascaro shoes. Fancy Feast gave away the Barnes & Nobles NOOKColor and Slim-Fast handed out shakes, snack bars and a digital camera.
