The Haunted Mansion theme park to become Disney film
By Sara Moore
In front of 65,000 fans at Comic-Con today, Guillermo del Toro announced that he is currently developing a new film based on the classic Disney theme park attraction, The Haunted Mansion, for The Walt Disney Studios.

“Dark imagery is an integral part of the Walt Disney legacy. After all, Disney himself was the father of some really chilling moments and characters – think Chernabog from Fantasia or Maleficent as the Dragon or the Evil Queen in Snow White,” del Toro said. “I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of my own adaptation of the original theme park attraction Walt envisioned and that remains- for me- the most desirable piece of real estate in the whole world!”
Rich Ross, Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios said, “Millions of people from around the world visit The Haunted Mansion each year, but no one has ever had a tour guide like Guillermo del Toro. Guillermo is one of the most gifted and innovative filmmakers working today and he is going to take audiences on a visually-thrilling journey like they’ve never experienced before.”

Daniel Radcliffe to lead “The Woman in Black”
By Julie Wiegan
Daniel Radcliffe has been cast as the lead in the screen adaptation of Susan Hill’s best-selling novel The Woman in Black. The story is about a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote corner of the UK and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in an old and isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover its tragic secrets, and his unease grows when he discovers that the local village is held hostage by the ghost of a scorned woman set on vengeance.
“I am incredibly excited to be part of The Woman In Black,” Radcliffe said. “Jane Goldman’s script is beautifully written – both tender and terrifying in equal measure. It is thrilling to be working with James Watkins. From his brilliant work on Eden Lake and also having met him and heard his vision for the film, I know he will make a fantastic film.”

Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel
In this film, director, writer, and Academy Award winner Brigitte Berman profiles the outspoken Hugh Hefner. When he launched Playboy magazine in 1953, he became a champion of the sexual revolution, but the forces of Church and State initiated a war against him that raged over the decades. Hefner is seen both as a hedonistic playboy and as the man who’s been a groundbreaking advocate and catalyst for civil rights, the First Amendment, and human rights. The film captures Hefner’s fierce battles with the government, the religious right, and militant feminists. Compelling interviews with a remarkable Who’s Who of the decades, and rare footage, present a snapshot of the life of an extraordinary man and the controversies that surrounded him.
Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel is a Phase 4 Films and will be released July 30, 2010.
