Linkin Park to release new album “A Thousand Suns”
By Abbey Khan
Linkin Park is set to release their new album A Thousand Suns on September 14 and the album’s first single The Catalyst will debut on radio stations worldwide on August 2nd.

The band, which consists of vocalists Mike Shinoda and Chester Bennington, drummer Rob Bourdon, guitarist Brad Delson, DJ Joe Hahn and bassist Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, has teamed up with MySpace for the contest Linkin Park, Featuring You, which starts today, June 9th. It allows fans to collaborate with Linkin Park to produce their own song based on some of the tracks from the upcoming single. Fans can download audio stems from The Catalyst at MySpace.com/LinkinPark, where they can adjust the stems and record and produce their own additional tracks, using their own music production software, and then upload their song to the band via their MySpace page. Once each new version is submitted, the track will be shared in an embeddable player, which anyone can access to rate and comment, as well as click through to record their own tracks. The winner, who will be chosen by Linkin Park, will either perform with the band on a song on the upcoming record or their submission will be included on the new album.
