2009 Sundance parties and events
By Judith Orr
Sundance 2009 kicked off with the usual flurry of mad dashes with celebrities racing from one party to the next. So little time, so many events! So where did they go? Paris Hilton, Ashton Kutcher and Ben Affleck hung out at the MySpace Cafe where they enjoyed breakfast and lunch while surfing the net. Emmy Rossum waited tables on behalf of Global Green charity. Co-stars Billy Bob Thornton and Tea Leoni dropped by following the premiere of their film Manure on Tuesday morning. Chris Rock checked out the latest celebrity news straight from the celebrities themselves on MySpace Celebrity while sipping hot chocolate.

The Kenneth Cole Black / Gen Art event celebrated the 25th anniversary of Sundance by honoring those committed to independent filmmaking. Kevin Bacon and Virginia Madsen were among some of the honorees while Nick Cannon served as guest DJ at the event. Sting and his wife Trudie Styler hosted an eco-friendly dinner for the documentary Crude, which Pierce Brosnan and Kevin Bacon attended.

Singers Robin Thicke and Aubrey O’Day attended the Island Def Jam House of Hype lounges, where they collected gifts at the Hospitality Lounge during the day, and then partied at their Ultra Lounge until 3am. Guests were picked up on Main Street in Maserati cars and dropped of at Christian Audigier’s Ed Hardy Shoes VIP cocktail party and after-hours events hosted by Jeremy Jackson of VH1‘s Confessions of a Teen Idol.
