Gonpachi of Beverly Hills receives commendation

By Abbey Khan

On April 27, 2010, Los Angeles City Councilwoman, Jan Perry (Ninth District), presented a commendation to Gonpachi of Beverly Hills for honoring the authentic, rich, Japanese culture and tradition.

Five-Star Executive Chef, Chris Behre, who recently joined Gonpachi less than three months ago, delighted attendees with a scrumptious menu that included shrimp skewers with wasabi mayo, Wagyu skirt steak and red miso, Rainbow rolls, Octopus and tuna crispy rice ceviche, tempura oysters with avocado sauce and pretzel fish, petite brulee, and much more.

Just some of the guests included soap actor Sean Kanan, Alice Greczyn, and Kevin Farley. “Gonpachi’s cuisine is really quite special and delicious and the ambiance and architecture is stunning! I just heard that Gonpachi’s sister restaurant in Tokyo was used in Kill Bill,” Kanan said. Carolyn Hennessy of Cougartown said, “This sushi is amazing — so fresh, so delicate!”
