2008 American Music Awards winners

If you missed the 2008 American Music Awards, here are just some of the highlights. Jimmy Kimmel hosted the show for the 5th consecutive year. Beyonce, The Jonas Brothers, Christina Aguilera, and Rihanna put on some amazing performances. Alicia Keys and Queen Latifah sang duets as did Sarah McLaughlin and Pink. Birthday girl, Miley Cyrus, celebrated her Sweet 16 backstage. Britney Spears was a no-show, but her ex, Justin Timberlake made an appearance to present Annie Lennox with the “Award of Merit.”

Barbara Walters is back with her top 10 Most Fascinating People list. Making the list this year include Emmy winner and Sarah Palin impersonator Tina Fey, teen queen Miley Cyrus, movie stars Tom Cruise and Will Smith, and Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps. Last year Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling topped the list. Who will take the number one spot this year? Find out on December 4th.

Madonna – the new face of Louis Vuitton?

It’s been a busy year for Madonna. The “Material Girl” celebrated her 50th birthday in August; she’s currently on her worldwide Sticky and Sweet tour; she’s going through a divorce; and now she may be the new face of the Spring 2009 Louis Vuitton collection. Supposedly, fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott have already shot the campaign. Previous Louis Vuitton spokesmodels include fellow actresses and singers Jennifer Lopez and Scarlett Johansson.

Alexander McQueen coming soon to Target!

Let the countdown begin! In March, British designer Alexander McQueen will launch his special edition line McQ Alexander McQueen for Target for the store’s new Designer Collaborations series. McQueen will be the first of established designers to participate in this collection whereas earlier this year up-and-coming designers such as Proenza Schouler were featured in the Target Go International collection. So what can fashionistas look forward to besides affordable prices? The inspiration for McQueen’s line will be Leila Moss, the lead singer of the British rock band The Duke Spirit.

2008 World Music Award Winners

It was an eventful Sunday night at the 2008 World Music Awards in beautiful Monte Carlo, Monaco. Michelle Williams and Jesse Metcalfe hosted while the hottest stars of today, which included Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey performed.

Leona Lewis walked away with two awards– World’s Best Pop Female Artist and World’s Best New Artist. Fellow Brit, Amy Winehouse won the award for World’s Best Pop Rock Female Artist beating out Duffy, Pink and Katy Perry. Former Beatle, Ringo Starr, received the Diamond Award, which is given to musicians who have sold over 100 million albums in their career.

Sex and the City movie sequel confirmed

Kim Cattrall says it’s official! She confirmed that the Sex and the City sequel will start filming next summer while being interviewed by former Spice Girl, Melanie Brown, earlier this week on the The Paul O’Grady Show in the U.K. “Yes, there will be a sequel. We will do the sequel next summer.” The first Sex and the City movie grossed almost $400 million worldwide.
