The most popular color at the 2015 MET Gala was red, which is no surprise, since the theme of the annual event was “China: Through the Looking Glass,” where red is a dominant color in Chinese culture.
These ladies looked more red carpet awards ready than costumey, but they both still looked beautiful. Reese Witherspoon showed off a little leg in a side-slit Jason Wu gown while Hailee Steinfeld stunned in a satin Michael Kors gown.
Rita Ora channeled her inner Little Red Riding Hood in this Tom Ford satin dress while Karolina Kurkova showed off her mile-long legs in a Tommy Hilfiger creation.
Poppy Delevingne looked spectacular in this silk poppy flower Marchesa gown. Rose Byrne wore a low-cut Calvin Klein Collection lace-like dress while model Jessica Hart stayed fully covered in Valentino.
Always the proper English lady, Helen Mirren looked ageless in a long-sleeved Dolce and Gabbana dress. Allison Williams looked proper in a Giambattista Valli gown with a tulle bottom.
Gigi Hadid sexed it up in a Diane von Furstenburg side-slit dress whereas for Jennifer Lopez, it was the Year of the Dragon in a one-shoulder Atelier Versace gown.
Other color trends seen on the red carpet included gold, white and purple gowns, but the one trend that caught our eye were the beautiful feathered gowns.
Keri Russell stunned in a side-slit low-cut Altuzarra feather gown while Kim Kardashian was all about feathers and beading in a Roberto Cavalli gown.
Kate Hudson shimmered in a gold Michael Kors gown. Anne Hathaway showed off her flare for drama in a hooded Ralph Lauren gold lame gown and Jessica Chastain looked every bit the sexy screen siren in a gold halter Givenchy gown.
Amanda Seyfried looked beautiful as always in a white Givenchy halter gown. Selena Gomez wore a white Vera Wang keyhole gown while Uma Thurman showed off her statuesque figure in an Atelier Versace side-slit gown.
Alison Brie and Gabrielle Union stayed covered in long-sleeved gowns by Prabal Gurung and Zac Posen while Joan Smalls played peek-a-boo in a one-shoulder Roberto Cavalli gown.
