With all the superhero movies that have been coming out and many more to come next year, you can expect to see more celebrities in capes off the film set.
Gwyneth Paltrow, who co-starred in the Iron Man franchise started the trend last year when she wore this white Tom Ford dress with an asymmetrical neckline to the 2012 Academy Awards. Cameron Diaz wore a Stella McCartney dress in this year’s it color, cobalt blue, with a spiked belt to the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in May.
Noomi Rapace, the original The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo, wore a poppy crepe cady dress with embroidered bodice and waist Ellie Saab gown to the 13th Marrakech International Film Festival last week in Morocco. The very next day, Cate Blanchett wore a muted Valentino gown at the Opening Night Gala of the 10th Annual Dubai International Film Festival in the United Arab Emirates.
One thing is for sure, if you’re going to wear a cape for an evening out, it looks best if your hair is worn up for a more dramatic effect.
