With summer coming to a close, here’s a recap of what we were up to these last two months. First we dropped by Mannfolk PR‘s evening soiree, where the house was packed.
On display were a mix of both affordable and designer pieces from summer and fall clothing lines that included JM Couture, Bianca Nero, Pink Basis, Gelareh, Lamo shoes, Dije and Swoon Luxe.
Guests nibbled on appetizers while enjoying drinks from Devotion Vodka or they cooled down with flavored water from Hint Water. Also on hand was Chella Brow Bar, where guests lined up for touch-ups. On their way out, guests received a gift bag of goodies with the latest beauty products worth well over $500.
It may still be summer, but Make Up For Ever gave us a preview of their Fall 2014 line. Just a little history– in 1984, the brand launched 100 eyeshadow colors, which was unheard of at the time. To celebrate their 30th Anniversary, Make Up For Ever is launching the Artist Shadow range. This new collection of 210 highly pigmented eyeshadows has shades consisting of Matte, Satin, Metal, Iridescent and Diamond finishes, so there’s a color for your every mood.
To help introduce the new line, a panel of professional makeup artists shared their tips and favorite colors. According to celebrity and runway makeup artist Pati Dubroff, matte shadow contours the eyes and really opens them up. She recommended the venom color, which really helps bring back definition to aging eyes.
With Halloween coming up, this line would be perfect to decorate the body and face as seen on the two models above. Of course you would need some help. It took 2 makeup artists and 4 hours to get these girls all done up.
We ended the summer with Doris Bergman’s 5th Annual Emmy Style Lounge and Party at Fig and Olive last week where Emmy nominees including Jon Voight, Kate Burton, and R.J. Mitte enjoyed a tasty sit-down lunch. The event once again benefited Wednesday’s Child, where guests donated gently used items for ‘harder to place’ children in the Los Angeles County foster care system who are in need of adoptive families.
Guests took home luxury skincare products from MD Sun Skin Care, a makeup set from Gerard Cosmetics & Whitening Lightning, and gift certificates for treatments to the Vida Emanuel European Day Spa.
In the fashion department, guests updated their clothing and accessory wardrobe with My Saint, My Hero jewelry, Radar Watches, beautiful Intemporelle Designs clutches, fun and trendy hats from Bling It Hat Designs, clothing from Roadkill Boutique, Go Fore Broke Sportswear golf clothing, affordable and sturdy Traveler’s Choice luggage, and our personal favorite, the jewel-like bra straps from Ooh La Bra.
Before and after the sit-down lunch, guests had a chance to enjoy both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks such as Nature’s Flavors, Honest Tea, Tequila Azul Imperial, Veved Ice Vodka, or energize with Clif Bars and Luna Bars.
