Last Wednesday, Chef Kimmy Tang of 9021PHO celebrated her new partnership with HARK (Healing Arts Reaching Kids) to support the Art Therapy Program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Through this program, diners can make monthly bids on art work created by ill children staying at the hospital with 100% of the proceeds of the winning bids going to the hospital.
“I do not have children of my own, so I want to help as many children as I can,” said Owner/Chef Kimmy Tang. She is implementing this program at her Beverly Hills and Westlake restaurants and also at her new Glendale location, which will open on September 15, 2012. “The plan is to open 50 restaurants in the next five years, then think about how many children I can help!”
Tang closed her doors for a few hours at her Beverly Hills location for this private inaugural event. Guests and V.I.P’s were the first to bid on the artwork while enjoying some of the restaurant’s menu that included shrimp fresh rolls, tofu fresh rolls, crunch rolls, vegan spring rolls, crispy sole, chicken salad served in wonton cups, tofu salad served in wonton cups, open face Banh Mi pork sandwiches, open face Banh Mi soy ham sandwiches and much more.
