Ashton Kutcher will be “Forever Young” with new reality series
By Julie Wiegan
Ashton Kutcher is at it again with a new social experiment reality series entitled Forever Young. TV Land has picked up the series for six episodes, which takes on ageism as it explores the generations’ ideas and misconceptions about each other.

The series bridges the generation gap as “Juniors” and “Seniors” work together to experience each other’s point of view to find out just how much they do or don’t have in common. When separated by five decades, six wars, and ten presidents, Forever Young explores how revealing and funny it can be when youth and wisdom join forces, whether in appreciation of the past, understanding the present, or preparing for the future.

Ellen DeGeneres says goodbye to “American Idol”
Fox released a statement that Ellen DeGeneres, who replaced Paula Abdul as an American Idol judge in Season 9 has decided not to return next season. In her statement released by Fox, DeGeneres said, “A couple months ago, I let Fox and the American Idol producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on IDOL and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”

Even though DeGeneres has stepped down after only one season, she is leaving on good terms. “I loved Ellen’s passion for the artists and her nurturing skills. She brought honesty and optimism to our judging panel and I will miss her greatly,” show creator Simon Fuller said.
