When St. Julien Hotel & Spa opened its doors in downtown Boulder, Colorado in 2005, locals immediately welcomed the new hotel with open arms. Until then, the last hotel to make its debut in the area was almost 100 years ago in 1909.

St. Julien is earning rave reviews from locals and travelers alike for its world-class accommodations and service, views of the Flatiron Mountains and doorstep access to the famous Pearl Street Mall. Some of the signature features guests can expect are:

• 201 rooms, with 12 suites and three hospitality suites
• Luxurious bathrooms with soaking tubs and separate glass showers
• 10,000-square-foot spa with 12 treatment rooms
• Two-lane infinity pool with whirlpool and outside terrace
• Complimentary fitness center with the latest cardio and aerobic equipment
• Business center and 650-space public parking garage below the hotel
• Signature restaurant

In addition to these features, St. Julien is doing its part to go green. On International Earth Day, March 20, 2008, the hotel had their first Zero Carbon Footprint Wine Dinner at Jill’s Restaurant, the main restaurant in the hotel. This original five-course dinner included certified organic and sustainable produce and proteins from within a 100-mile radius of the hotel. St. Julien will also purchased carbon credits to offset the carbon footprint created by each dinner guest. Missed this one, no problem, the next dinner is planned for October 2, 2008.

The hotel is also taking steps in becoming a zero waste property by reducing its waste output from 33 tons per month to a total of 3.3 tons per month by September 2010. This 90% reduction in waste will come 20 years prior to the U.S. Department of Energy’s carbon-neutral goal for the hospitality industry in 2030.

If you plan on visiting St. Julien from April to June, treat yourself to the new Divini-“TEA” special. This 80-minute treatment includes an aromatic green tea sugar scrub, followed by a hydrating shea butter body wrap and a relaxing ½ hour massage with a soufflé of oils & aloe vera.

Did you know that the St. Julien’s restaurant recycles its cooking oil to make biodiesel?
