Bad Girls Go Everywhere
By Sara Moore
Today is National Women’s Equality Day and what better way to celebrate this day than Jennifer Scanlon’s new book Bad Girls Go Everywhere: The Life of Helen Gurley Brown, the Woman Behind Cosmopolitan Magazine.

Scanlon’s book is the only biography of the former editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan, and first lipstick feminist, Helen Gurley Brown. As the author of the revolutionary Sex and the Single Girl, and the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine for 32 years, Brown changed how women thought about sex, money, and their bodies in a way that resonates in our culture today, and she was one of the first to offer American women alternatives to being a wife and mother.
