Not sure how to do your party makeup during the holidays? Well, you have options! And you can look like a star without spending much. Try these trends from Rimmel London Global Makeup Artist Liz Pugh to get the perfect look. She offers her easy tips on how to go from day to night with scene stealing lips and party-perfect nails. “The simplest way to transform from day to night is by adding a high-impact lip. Red is very on trend this season, and always looks gorgeous.”

1. Skip the dark stain in favor of a bold, precise pop of red applied with a lip brush. I’m a big fan of 1000 Kisses Lip Liner because it really stays put—perfect for parties.
2. Start by applying the liner in Red Dynamite, a fantastic shade of red that suits everyone. Apply it all over the lip as a base.
3. Then coat with clear gloss or Lasting Finish Intense Wear Lipstick in Red Hot.
4. Keep everything else minimal to make a strong red lip shine—try a sweep of Eyeful Eye Glistener in Straight Laced or Girls Only over the eyelid, finished off with the defining power of Eye Magnifier Exact Definition Mascara applied only to the top lashes.
5. For nails, try a modern version of the classic French manicure by painting the standard white tip a different shade for night.
6. Go for 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Shocker or Stop Traffic for day, then turn it into a bold nighttime look by coloring the tip with Delicious Dark. The 60 Seconds polishes are perfect to play with because they dry so fast—60 seconds and you’re ready to go.”

“When choosing a color for your eyes you want to choose a shade that contrasts your eye color to make your eyes really stand out,” Pugh says. “Don’t choose a matching shade. Warm colored eyes, browns and hazels look great with cool shades, such as blues, greens and violets. Whereas cool eyes, blue or green, work well with warmer shadows, such as peaches, caramels, oranges and coppers.”

1. If you have blue eyes, try golds, oranges, coppers and browns. These shades contrast to the blue so the blue of your eye will really pop. Rimmel London Colour Rush Trio in Orion or Colour Rush Quad in Smokey Burn are beautiful on blue eyes.

2. Green eyes look great with pinks, rusts, mauves, peaches and apricot shades. Two great shades for green eyes are Rimmel London’s Colour Rush Trio Eyeshadow in Dreamy or Colour Rush Quad Eyeshadow in Smokey Purple.
3. Brown eyes look great with most colors, especially blues, purples and olive greens. Try a navy eyeliner instead of black to really bring your eyes to life. If you wear brown shadow, choose a brown that is different to the brown in your eyes. Rimmel London Colour Rush Quad in Smokey Blue is great on brown eyes. Try either of the darker shades just smudged along the top lash line, dot the pearly white on the inner corner and finish with Rimmel London Glam’ Eyes Lash Flirt for simple, smoldering eyes.
4. With hazel eyes, you can choose the shade in your eyes you want to pop out, so if you want to enhance the green, choose a shade suited for green eyes.

Rimmel London products are sold in drugstores nationwide.
