Breast Cancer Strikes Young Women

pink_ribbon4.jpg Did you know that 1 in 18 women under the age of 40 will be diagnosed with breast cancer. More than 10% of these women will die because breast cancer cases in young women are more aggressive, which is why early diagnosis is necessary.

Breast cancer survivor, Leigh Hurst founded Feel Your Boobies to raise awareness about the disease for women 40 and younger. After being diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 32, Hurst knew she had to get the word out. Through her foundation, she’s helped young women realize the importance of self-examination and regular check-ups. Her motto is, “Big or small, perky or not so perky; they are all equally at risk of developing breast cancer, so get “feeling” ladies!”

Use pads of fingers
Press firmly
Examine collarbone and underarm areas
