In addition to picking up a third season of Hot in Cleveland, TV land has renewed Retired at 35 for ten episodes and has greenlighted two new sitcoms, Happily Divorced and The Exes.

Fran Drescher of The Nanny returns to television in Happily Divorced, which is based on her real life. The show centers around Los Angeles florist Fran (Drescher) as she deals with dating after finding out her realtor husband of 18 years (John Michael Higgins) is gay. The sitcom focuses on how she juggles her new relationships and her ex-husband while still living under the same roof. The characters include Fran’s best friend Judi (Tichina Arnold), her parents Dori and Glen (Rita Moreno and Robert Walden) and her flower delivery employee Cesar (Valente Rodriguez).

The Exes, which is the working title, is about three divorced men, ladies man Phil (Donald Faison), homebody Haskell (Wayne Knight) and newly-single and needy Stuart (David Alan Basche). The guys share an apartment across the hall from their divorce attorney and landlady Holly (Kristen Johnston), who tries to avoid her own relationship and commitment issues by becoming immersed in the men’s affairs as they put their lives back together and return to the dating scene.

Both shows have been picked up for 10 episodes each. Happily Divorced is scheduled to premiere this summer on June 15 while The Exes will debut in the winter.
