Watch the “Captain Planet” marathon on Earth Day

Before going green became mainstream, one very important animated series brought attention to the cause. To celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day on April 22, 2010, the Cartoon Network’s Boomerang network will run episodes of Captain Planet from 8am to 8pm today.

The series ran for six seasons as Captain Planet, Linka (Wind), Gi (Water), Wheeler (Fire), Kwame (Earth) and Ma-Ti (Heart) fought to protect our home from villains and polluters. Times may have changed, but the message remains the same, which is why this cartoon can still make a positive impact on today’s children.
